- 6th Generation Texan, born in Galveston, raised in Harris County.
- Fayette County Voter and Rancher since 1999.

George L. Morovich is a lifelong Texas resident born in Galveston. George was raised in Harris County, graduated from Klein High School and in 1978 from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, including focus on History and Earth Sciences. In 1979 he moved to The Woodlands in Montgomery County (where he still has a residence) and began construction of his home and ranch near La Grange in Fayette County in 1982. George registered to vote in Fayette County and in 2000 joined the Fayette County Republican Party.
Since graduating from college he has been involved with companies that design, manufacture and construct large environmental structures. He has worked in the Engineering and Manufacturing Departments constructing steel plate structures (petroleum and water storage tanks). He has also worked with large aluminum structures used for petroleum storage, water storage, waste water treatment, bulk storage and architectural applications. He has served as Vice President of Industrial Products and also as a Consultant. However, his primary responsibility has been Business Development, Contracting and Project Management. For the past 20 years a primary focus has been the “downstream” Petroleum Industry (from storage of crude oil collected and shipped for refining to the distribution of finished petroleum products, such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel).
George has served on various Industry Committees related to Trade, Standards for Construction and Environmental Standards (Emissions). Memberships have included: American Water Works Association, Texas Rural Water Association, Water Environment Federation, Independent Liquid Terminals Association, and American Petroleum Institute.
It is through this effort that George knows the value of our Nation being the leader and setting the Industry Standards used by the rest of the world. This leadership role means jobs for our people.
Hello, I am George L. Morovich, I have been in the same business for 32 years, working for 4 companies that design, manufacture and large metallic structures , first appointed as Vice President at 32 (1988), President in 1991-99 and have continuously remained on the executive payroll for 22 years. Through this I have had involvement with projects in all 50 states and on every continent (including Antarctica, traveling over 1.2 million actual flight miles.
I am responsible for the budgets and performance of the 4 companies I have worked for, 3 have now merged and I still regularly conduct business with and maintain an excellent relationship with the first.
Last October I received an awards at meetings in Alberta, Canada and Texas for 20 years of service from the American Petroleum Institute, where we produce Equipment and Environmental Standards which are used by industry and to establish Government policies worldwide. It is important to know that the USA leads the world with these Industry and Environmental Standards (as no other country does this). I have worked to represent these American Standards to Canada, Mexico, countries in Europe (UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy), Asia (China, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain) Africa and South America.
I have the experience needed for the office I am seeking. I am asking for your vote on March 2nd.
